Helping people with disabilities in rural Nevada
We have a dedicated staff person to focus on rural Nevada to share information about products and services available to rural residents who have disabilities. If you're interested in arranging a visit to your city, please call NNCIL Rural Independent Living Advocate, Deb Maijala, at 775-353-3599.
There may be funds available for everything from walkers and shower chairs to telecommunications equipment and home modifications, and we can share information on available equipment and funding. We can also work with you to learn about home modifications you might need to live safely and independently in your home, including construction of ramps, widening of doors, etc.
We're constantly expanding our partnerships with various agencies to expand our services throughout rural Nevada (which is considered every place except Washoe and Clark County). If you have a suggestion for an additional resource, please let us know.
