Reno, NV (June 9, 2014) – Deb Maijala has been hired by the Northern Nevada Center for Independent Living (NNCIL) as a Service Coordinator, helping NNCIL consumers who are working with Vocational Rehabilitation. She’ll work with them on their labor market surveys, vocational goals, researching training facilities, and other assignments given.
Deb’s background has prepared her perfectly for this position, as it has primarily consisted of social services and human resources. Before joining NNCIL, she worked for United Cerebral Palsy assisting young people with disabilities transition from high school into competitevie employment or continuing education. She has also worked for Rivendel Independent Living, SEEK Careers and Career College of Northern Nevada.
She studied journalism and public relations at San Jose State University. And she has earned the following certifications:
- CSP (Certified Staffing Professional) – ASA
- S.A.V.E. – Dept of Homeland Security
- Medical Administration Certification
- Job Coaching Certification – State of Nevada
- Job Development Certification – State of Nevada
